Preserving your Bridal Bouquet & Wedding Flowers
Preserving your bridal bouquet and wedding flowers will
keep your memories fresh for years to come! You can
arrange to have your bridal bouquet preserved as a
permanent reminder of your special day. Call 866-243-6862 or arrange a wedding
flower consultation with Meme's Florist to discuss your vision
for wedding flowers.
There are a number of ways to preserve your wedding
flowers:
- The bouquet is photographed and the flowers dismantled
petal by petal. These are then pressed and mounted
on silk.
- If you choose to dry the flowers from your
bouquet, you must place them in a box full of silica
gel crystals, and leave until the crystals have absorbed
all the moisture.
- Alternatively, a florist may
be able to make a replica of your bouquet by using silk
flowers.
- You could arrange for a few flowers from your bouquet
to be mounted into a paperweight,
- or you could take cuttings
from the flowers and grow them in your garden. Tell your
florist in
advance that you wish to take cuttings, because some
flowers are treated in a way that makes them unsuitable
to take cuttings from.
- The flowers from your bouquet could be pressed
and made into a framed collage.
If you are going to perform the traditional bridal bouquet toss
but wish to keep a few of the flowers from it, make sure
you keep aside some of the flowers and give them to the
chief bridesmaid or a friend to look after, before you
throw your bouquet. (Some brides add a special bouquet to their wedding
flower list just for this occasion so that they may keep their own.)
